About Balti...

I don't know but I am having this strange feeling about writing about Pulkit Bathla, our friend, whom we commonly know as 'Balti'. Balti is a kind of scapegoat, he is a part of every joke, and the joke is on him, EVERYTIME. And when he tries to crack a joke, it's a...well let me just say that hes not good at it. But he always takes it in good spirit, time after time, day after day, period after period and well second after second. It's not that he's a geek or unsociable in some way, he's okay looking, but somehow he always finds himself at the wrong end of every comment. From his father's 'screenless communicator' to his being a part of the non-existant 'School Dramatics Club' as an excuse for bunking, he has always been humiliated.
The other day he took initiative to display his humour when we all were particularly bored during a free period.
"Ek joke sunata hoon.", we giggle.
"hasi aaye to has lena."we laugh.
"Ek baar na aisa hota hai....mera matlab hota wota kuch nahi par aisa hota hai...", he failed badly, and we screamed with laughter, literally pounding the floor. And balti, with his trademark blushed smile, took it once again, in good spirit.

I dunno the reason I wrote this as the first post of my blog, but maybe I just put myself in his place and just imagined what he must feel about it. Maybe I am somewhat guilty, but I know one thing, no matter the extent to which we make fun of him and all, I would anyday, readily substitute positions with him...
